Subject: Buyer Beware John Deere G5+ Displays

Beware of G5+ displays hitting the used and auction market that are from Precision Ag Essentials Kits. They are a G5+ display and look normal but their serial number is linked to the Essentials program and require a $2000/year license for Autotrac, Section Control and RowSense. It isn't a bad program and the kit has a lot of benefits but they are not worth normal G5 pricing. How do you spot a display from an essential kit, it should have a small sticker next to the serial number. Or have your dealer search the serial number in Stellar.

For example, this company has some for auction and one just sold today for $9200. They do mention in the description that it has a subscription, so they aren't falsely advertising it. But they sure aren't going out of their way to call attention to the fact it's part of an essential kit. An essential kit is $4000 total and includes the G5+, SF7000 and a modem plus the first year of the essentials license ($2000). Someone is going to be real disappointed when that license comes up for renewal next year.
