SE Indiana | My wife and I wanted to start loadlots of bottle calves, take them to 5-6wts and send them out to be custom finished. We sent two groups to a lot and after running ourselves in the dirt, doing thing the hard way with almost no overhead we still didn’t turn a dime. Little hard for me to stomach paying someone else feed the margin out of something I had the risk and most labor in but I’m not smart enough to learn from anything other than hard lessons lol
So I would say do better homework on picking someone to feed for you than I did. I still think it’s a good model. Just have to send them somewhere that can make cattle perform.
