North Central MN | Putting up a couple miles of 4 strand hi tensile. 2nd from bottom and top wires will be hot. Wood posts at 50'. Built some a couple years ago with the tube type insulators and now many are shorting out so looking at other options. I'm hoping to get more than 5 years out of an insulator.
The tube type made for quick wire install with a staple gun but not impressed with the shelf life. Thinking to still staple bottom and third wire but try one of the pin style insulators for the hot wires. Seems like alot of the fence products are cheap. Buy wire from tractor supply, parts from kencove, and post from marks miller. Skid loader pounder and fence hog stretcher.
Thoughts on insulators? Corner post insulators also? I don't hang gates in the openings. Use freestanding panels with gates. | |
