My thoughts are you are buying the cows at the high point in a normal year and selling when they are the cheapest, If market stays consistent you need to figure best case scenario $200-400 loss per head on the cows, unless you can find someone like say a jockey who knows what your are doing and is willing to buy them off you year in year out. Too much head wind doing that to make it worth the effort IMO.
