Test your hay, even if you get alfalfa hay test your hay. I just seen some 2nd cutting alfalfa 'hay' test at less than 12% CP, if it's not put up right that's what happens. BTW, the grass 1st cutting was just over 6% crude protein. The second cutting grass hit almost 11% CP;
The 3-month-old needs 18% feed or better. At 6 months old I drop down to 16% feed (hay and grain combo).
