East Central Illinois | We used to think the same thing when we had our Golddigger. We switched to a self propelled plow and still usually string out the whole run before the plow runs. We think the feeder helps quite a bit, keeping as much slack as possible in the boot. It helps pull the tile over corn or bean stalks, clods of dirt, wheel tracks, anything like that. Also when we string it out, the feeder actually pulls the last 20-40 feet of tile towards the plow a few to several feet, so it actually makes the lines a little shorter, meaning it’s getting more tile in the ground per foot, if that makes sense. Not saying you need to get one or have to have it to do a quality install! We have put millions of feet in without it, but it does do a little better job probably. My uncle with a Golddigger bought a feeder as well, he thinks it was worth putting on. Just a thought! | |
