Subject: RE: RTK Base questions

The Ag Leader receivers need RTCM v3 correction data.

The Trimble FM1000 has optional internal radios, but they can only be used when receiving CMR+ correction data from a Trimble base. The FM1000 does support RTCM v3 correction data if you use an external radio connected to port D.

For this scenario, I would standardize on RTCM v3. If you're going to transport the correction data with radios, you need to decide if you want 900 MHz or 450 MHz. The 900s are limited to 1 watt of output power. The 450s can transmit at a higher power (thus you get a larger coverage area), but do require FCC licensing which adds a little cost.

If you end up with Satel radios (they have both 900 and 450 options), you could get a Relay radio module for the Ag Leader 7500. That's a nice clean solution. The FM1000 would need a stand alone radio, but they're easy to connect to a FM1000 - you can power the radio from Port D.
