Subject: RE: Rye on soybean stubble total flop

West Central Indiana
I done around 100 acres that way back in October. The rest of my acres was scratched in with a GP ultra-till in November. The vt rye actually looks better than what was broadcast a month sooner. Except where hog manure was applied. I’ve had success just broadcasting rye but it’s tricky. Many times I get just enough rain for it to sprout and then nothing for a long time. I think getting some snow cover on it helps, which there wasn’t much this winter in my area. Maybe yours sprouted and just didn’t have enough moisture to get it established.
