Subject: RE: VT for Beans

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana
I do as much tillage in the fall as I think I need to keep my bean planter moving in the spring. Usually I realize I’ve done twice I need to, but it’s nice to have acres ready when other notill acres aren’t ready for a day or till the afternoon. Maybe we are too picky on what we want to plant but that is where I see the value and moved them from a disc ripper/chisel on my fall till acres to just doing it on 10-20% of them and the sunflower Disc/VT on the rest and then no till about 1/2 or so.
Getting more beans in early makes me money. I don’t believe tillage does on days it can be no tilled.
