That looks beautiful to no-till into, why the VT pass?
In my experience it helps with weeds, and sizing residue. I do have some sandy hills that I no till the beans into the cornstalks.
edit: also my combine doesn't like the stalks/root balls it encounters in the fall from my beans no-tilled into cornstalks. If I did more no till I would probably need to get a roller to flatten everything down at at east.
