Croswell, Michigan | It’s been 20 years since I grew seed beans but I’m pretty sure we got paid market price for the screen out.
When we grew them there was not a big premium but a lot of little ones that you needed to capture to make it worthwhile. We had no choice in the varieties we grew either. After a few years I figured all I needed to do was grow a good commercial variety that yielded 3-5 bu better than the varieties I was given to be money ahead. Plus a lot less hassle to boot. | |
