Redwood Falls, MN | We put on about 85% of our N in the fall in Urea after the soil temps have dropped below 50 degrees. We use a Yetter magnum with a modified dry tube and place it about 4" deep and then come back and plant right on over that band. We finish the N with our 0x2" on the planter. Has worked well for us, doesn't require the in-season sidedressing and has had the same yield as sidedressing when we have compared. Your soils and weather may vary.
