Conger, MN | I posted this as a reply to a different thread, but it probably justifies its own thread. (I apologize if it was posted before, and I missed it.)
Anyway . . . what do you think of the proposed law discussed in this article?
https://www.foodandwine.com/florida-lab-grown-meat-ban-legislation-8...
Although I am not yet fully studied up on it, I don't think I am a fan of legislation banning lab or fake meat. The reason is because there are areas of the country where there are more PETA and other anti-livestock crazies compared to pro-livestock people . . . and if legislation can be used to ban lab grown meat, it can theoretically be used to ban real meat. I'd prefer that people decide on their own that they don't like fake and lab-grown meat.
Another point from the article: Fake meat and lab grown meat are not going to go away. Fake meat has taken significant PR hits (and stock market hits) in the U.S., but there are other countries that are pursuing these concepts with some significant effort and money. (See last couple paragraphs of the article.)
It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the coming years.
