I would say probably the biggest advantage is not having a lava strip though the field lol. I often wonder how hot is too hot with 2x2 with dry lol. Havent seen to found a limit yet lol. Dry planters are the most economical form to get fertilizer to the plant only people that disagree are BTO's and custom planters that are too lazy to fill lol.
