Ludington/Manistee MI area
Transition problems happen in other businesses too. Owner of local pizza place died after a short illness. While sick he set something up with his nephew. After his passing nephew reopened the restaurant and was working to buy it off the widow when out of the blue local doctor goes behind him and deals with the widow offering more than the nephew and widow agreed on. So yes it happens.

If you want to control what happens to an operation you’re involved in best bet is to own it. And remember some of us started out with nothing and built from scratch.
