Subject: RE: lift switch recomendation

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The Deere button switches work fine for me on our planter. As mentioned above, I use one on each wing which are wired together in parallel.

The Deere button switches ae the Normally Closed type. This is the opposite of a door bell push button. Normally the switch is making a connection between the two wires. When the button is pushed the circuit becomes open. This means when the planter is in the planting position, the row unit is riding on the ground and the unit is raised up off of the button so it completes the circuit. When the planter is raised, the row unit comes down to the limit tabs and also pushes the button in which breaks the circuit.

This is the action needed to inform most systems whether the planter is UP or DOWN.

I've heard complaints about that style from operators who have terraces and waterways. They seem to prefer the antenna like style and mount it on the planter frame.
