Subject: Yal weren’t out of moisture and 2023 was cool thanks to smoke cover

Oh the drought monitor is serious.. maybe you just haven’t experienced one?

Iowa begin last year with a mostly full profile.. I’m sure recent precipitation may not be fully included yet.. 3/26/24.. but it takes awhile to refill the profile.. less so for northern states then here.. what little precipitation we’ve received has mostly now passed through the root zone.. filling in dryer soil below.

this comparison between last year and this illustrates.
