Generally, the original setup AB is in the same spot when using different setup/implement widths (my experience with Trimble equipment). But your working width changes the offset across the field for each pass from there. So yes, you may need to offset the original AB line 7" to 8" to get closer to the fence/edge of field if you want the edge of the first row of beans similar to the corn rows when you start.

Adding the even row kit would eliminate this problem from corn to beans as the tractor would still be at the same centerline and still planting 40 ft width. Tractor would be in same tracks between corn and soybean planting. You offset the drawbar 7.5" to the right and two beans rows will get planted between the old corn rows. It's a little weird to get one's head around as the planter drawbar is offset from the tractor, but the center of the "planter" with the even row kit installed is centered on the tractor. A Kinze 3600 manual has a decent illustration of this.
