My next door neighbor recently retired. For his retirement he bought himself a brand new F-150 4x4 and a very nice but used 30+ ft bumper pull camper (can't remember the exact length but it's pretty big). He made one trip and traded the F-150 for a F-250 4x4. I still don't think he's got enough truck for the camper he's pulling. Don't know the engine size of either but both are gas.
