| We have a pretty good amount of hair sheep and goats that we treat just like cows. We keep them in with one high tensile wire in front of the barbed wire fence. I wouldn't say they're more work, just different work than cows. We lamb in may on grass, check some groups once per day, check the groups farther from home once per week. No barns, no jugs. A $3000 pin will work 1000 sheep. Not so with cattle. If i have bad foot or sick ewe my dog can catch her and hold her while i do what i need to do. If your not horseback, that job could be a multiple hour job with cows if your a long ways from a chute. | |
