Kind of hard to have much positive to say about a growing crop when it has rained about 75% of average the last 3 years and is way behind in rainfall in the 4th year(In an area that normal is a little on the dry side anyway). But when irrigated corn yields in JonSCKs area were up to at least 240 last year and up to at least 220 in 2021, maybe he would have something good to say about the crop. Then again it is hard to be that positive about irrigation when the government has plans to take away the water from the farmers, just because someone thinks it will make there be more water for the birds. JonSCKs what percent of your water rights will you have left if they go through with there current plan? Here, we are just above average rainfall since Oct 1. We had 0.8" 3 weeks ago, that was the only rain we have had since early Feb. Wheat looked okayish on Saturday, most corn should come up without a rain. |
