I have had probably 6 Meyers over the years. Like to trade every 4 years on a spreader. They are designed for manure that is somewhat wet or sloppy. Helps it slide back. If you put in real dry pen packed straw etc. you"ll have problems. It will ball up in the back and maybe roll off the side of the spreader in a big wad. Many years ago I put in some dry straw manure from the calf pens. It got wedged between the flighting on the augers and sidewall. Broke that big chain in front. # 90 chain I believe. That was my fault, not the spreader. It's great for sloppy manure.
