Subject: RE: Meyer V Max spreader

I have the latest sxr model. Very good spread pattern vs Kuhn I had before. I spread slop to cornstalk bedded pack and sawdust pack manure and it handles them all. The cornstalk bedded pack is  through a bale processor when I bed. It will unload the manure pack slow but I can plant no till right through it because it is shredded and spread evenly. I hate the shear hub for the augers. Doesn't shear often but it is a messy job and hard to get shear bolts back in, they need to figure out a better way to replace shear bolts on the bottom augers. The old Vmax had the same shear bolt system. Keep the wings on the Vmax close to the beater for a better spread. If buying used Vmax check for play in the beater drive. It is a splined shaft coming down from the gear box. If there is play that splined shaft is wore and will strip out. You may need just the shaft but you may need the shaft and beater because the splines are stripped on both. Replace with the new cross drive.
