south east minnesota | We went to stay at a little place down by Mauston ( which is about an hour-ish from Madison ). It was actually in the town of Friendship, called The Castle Rock Motel. This is mom and pop all the way. 8 rooms, each little building is 2 rooms side to side. It's right on Crystal Lake and there's pontoon rentals right close. The town of Adams has a little place that has great pizza and we got coupons for that place at this motel. There's no phones, a medium size swimming pool, playground equip. for the kids and there's about 4 or 5 bbq's there by the lawn area. We were there earlier this summer and it was a very quiet, relaxed place. They even have little 2 person benches outside of each room with a raised area in the middle you can put your pop, or play cards, whathaveyou. Prices were very reasonable, and will probly be even more so now that it's in the off season. Look it up and see whatcha think!
