Mason City, IL | pump was pulled today and it was shot. This well is 70 years old. (not the original pump) We put a new pump down and it worked great for a bit and started sucking air. Not good on the new pump. We restricted the pump to 8 gal/min to prevent damage to the pump. Sounds like the well is going bad. They said we could try acid treatment to see if that solves the problem but to me it is a bandaid. We really feel that drilling a new well would be the best, not cheapest solution. The wife is okay with everything actually, she had to have surgery today and was to wash with special stuff so I new it would be a hassle for her. She is a great wife, I just hated to have to tell her after she was asleep. I did not mean to make it sound so bad. Everyone can relax, it is under control. | |
