Don't remember the recipe that Mom always made, but she used duck eggs whenever she could. MUCH thicker and richer taste. She would also get cream off of the neighbors bulk milk tank. (can't do that anymore)
She always said you can't mix the butter and suger fast and long enough before adding all other ingredients.
Now I want ice cream
