A caution about your statement, "as long as the baby is healthy". I used to always say that, and still sometimes catch myself thinking that. The problem is, what if the baby isn't healthy? does that mean that we aren't happy for the couple? Our first child was born with a cleft lip and palette. Thanks to great doctors and 5 surgeries (more surgeries to come yet), we have a 7 year old that is happy, "healthy", and full of life. But we had a tough few (or maybe more than a few) days after he was born as we adjusted to the thought that everything wasn't exactly as we hoped and getting used to the extra effort to feed our little one.
Just something to think about.
Back to the original post. We didn't find out before birth. What a great surprise. My wife wanted to know for our 3rd but I talked her out of it. 3 great surprises. Hope there isn't a 4th!
