Subject: Neighbor has the system.

Little River, TX
One water heater for the bathroom output in the 110° range.
One for the kitchen output in the 140° range
Another for the utility room also 140° output.

Washing your hands one burner kicks on. as the demand goes up more burners kick on. The largest one of the neighbors can have 5 burners going at one time.

The advantage for him is the no waiting for hot water.

All his water heaters are on the outside of the house. Here a lot of homes with gas hot water heaters have then in an outside closet.

In this house the one hot water heater is next to the bathrooms. Set for 110°. then in line under the kitchen sink is a 5 gallon water heater to heat the 110° water to 140°, and in the utility room is another inline 5 gallon water heater just short of the washing machine for 140° water.
This hot water system could have been designed better, but I had to take with what was buried in concrete and adapt.
Water in a bathroom does not want to be too hot so as to not scald children and or old folks. To really work in the kitchen and utility room you want water hot enough to make instant coffee.

Back in the good old days someone would have to build a fire or light the gas for the hot water heater. Then after about 30 minutes you could take a bath, After about an hour you could wash clothes.
