Subject: Re: Delivery Room Tales?

I was born in the middle of wheat harvest. The story goes that my mom went out to the field and told dad it was time. He finished filling the truck, took it to town and unloaded, and then they went to the hospital. He never has been in much of a hurry. I guess it was a good thing I wasn't as well.

When my second was due, I was asked to run a quick errand away from the office for about 30 minutes. I checked with the wife and everything was fine, so I left on the errand. When I got back I was informed by co-workers that she had called just after I left, and was going to the hospital (this was pre cell phone days.) She drove herself. I made it and the second was born about 30 minutes after I got there. Labor only lasted about 1-1 1/2 hours. All of the kids deliveries were short. I think the longest was 5 hours.
