High Springs, Florida | We had a 12,000 gallon cistern in the house I grew up in. It got cleaned about every 5 years or so. We just went in and shoveled the bottom out. For a filter we had a milk can filled with gravel that the suction pipe went into. In the house, a regular paper filter. We had a crappy well that only put out about 3 gpm, and that was used for drinking and cooking. House now has city water from the county. | |
