NC Iowa | years ago, producing, perserving, and preparing food was a respected vital skill and very important in ths success of your family. you mess up, and your family starves, gets sick with any number of diseases, or dies of botulism. this skill was passed down through the generations. my mom was a expert at this, having grown up durng the depression, and without refrigeration (no electric until 1945). she passed 3 years ago, and i am still eating on her home canned food. this skill isn't very 'pc' anymore, but it is still important as we see from time to time. | |
