NE Iowa
Knee repalcements are not a big deal any more. Doc at U of I have one that they claim is a one and done at her age or younger. They can go in and replace the wear point (like a gasket, I can't think of the term) with a small incisions and outpatient procedure - every eight to ten years. Also a Dr at McFarland in Marshalltown that is excellent and wouldn't use age as the determining factor. definitely get a second opinion or third. She is not too young (shes not too old either). Most importantly for a successful recovery is due the rehab religiously. The rehab is the key to the best recovery and use, it may hurt like heck but do it.
