Subject: Re: Fruit flies

Are you sure they are fruit flies? They have a real bright orange eye. If not they are probably drain flies. Any over watered plants or "icky" drains are great breeding grounds for them. I fight them in my house all summer since I don't keep my garbage disposal as clean as I should. Fruit flies (orange eyes) can be cought in a small saucer of vinegar. The drain flies respond very well to barn sprays. Hit the kitchen before leaving the house for an hour or so. Keep the drains clean and full of water and they will go away.
