Subject: RE: To you guys harvesting Dekalb corn

NW Tennessee

I only planted one DeKalb variety, 63-81. The field was irrigated. It checked 213 bpa, 14.4%, TW was high 50's. Out from under the pivot, 14.2%, 155 bpa, don't remember the TW. Had Pioneer 33R76 right beside it. Irrigated checked 232 bpa dry corn, 16.4%, test weight was 1 or 2 lower than the DK. Dryland checked 160 bpa, 16.2% (I think), don't remember the TW. Now, understand, these were 1000' strips of irrigated, 550' dryland. The field was 140 acres, 100 acres watered, 40 acres outside the pivot. Based on the field average, I think these numbers were pretty close on the irrigated, but high on the dryland as there were some areas out from under the pivot that didn't even make an ear.
