southern MN
I have some real tough soils in southern MN. Yellow clay & peat ground mostly.

I buy mostly a local seed producer's corn. Try a few bags of Dekalb just to compare - not all eggs in one basket. :)

The Dekalb is sure trying to lay over this very difficult year. (2nd driest year in my life, now we got near 7 inches of rain in 4 days...) My local small seed co corn is standing tall.

Planting times, previous crop, and so on can all have a bigger impact than the variaty, but - at this point without a combine near the fields, the Dekalb doesn't impress.

I'll still try some again next year. :)
