Subject: Seed Wheat Availability & Prices

It's possible that I'm going to be short of seed wheat this year, so I called the coop to see what's available.

They are having some difficulty procuring seed wheat in the quantities need for this area.

They usually sell 15k units (50#) in a normal year, but this year is far from normal.  A lot of wheat went unharvested and what was harvested is poor quality (49-54 lb. test weight).  They have procured less than 14k units and the prices range from $13-17 per unit.

IF you can get the seed, they seem willing to rape you on the price.

What's chances of raising a decent crop by planting light test seed?  ...and how do you set a drill to plant light seed at the usual rate? Undecided
