NC KS | If you were where I am (NC KS), I wouldn't even worry about the 2# of atrazine but our soils are acidic. If you are very far west, you are basic and you wouldn't get wheat to grow very well. It also depends on how much rain you have had since application and weed pressure as all of that eats up the atrazine.
One other thing to think about. We were in this situation last year except a dollar lower. Potential corn ground went into wheat. Corn went +$4 in January and had a lot of people wishing they hadn't tried the extra acres in wheat especially the way wheat turned out around here. If you are very far west, wheat is probably your best bet for a profit on dryland. | |
