Subject: RE: stripper vs draper vs flex heads

Lake Village, AR
I have used a draper head for the last ten or twelve years. The 960 will not be the best choice for harvesting soybeans. It will just not cut low enough to the ground, As for the down rice, the 960 will do a great job. I recently started using a stripper in my rice. The stripper does a great job and is somewhat faster. About the only time it does not do a better job than the draper is when you try to harvest the rice when it laying straight away from the combine. Also, I use a McDon 972 to harvest soybeans. The 972 has a different cutterbar design and will cut close to the ground.
