Thanks for responding, Tom. No problem mentioning things I brought up. That helps reinforce the idea that I've identified a legitimate concern and/or force.

The whole topic is kind of overwhelming. Fortunately, I was asked to write the article when I was 56 instead of when I was 26. I've seen a lot of stuff come and go. I can remember some of the predictions made 30 years ago about agriculture's future. The one that stands out was the change in equipment to massive spanner-type units that moved through the field with a variety of implements all slung underneath. Except in some research facilities, that idea never took off. On the other hand, who would have predicted GPS even 20 years ago to the extent that it's now used?
