Agree with vvv on his/her points. Taking the fines out allows better air movement, we usually shovel somewhat level after that. If you're lucky enough to have real cold (-10 or colder) in the winter, run the fans to really cool off the grain. If not, run them on the coldest nights of the year to help control the bugs and mold.
