Subject: RE: Protien vs RFV

Lewisburg, PA
Hey dave sorry we didn;t get to talk much the other day. This all started this spring when my dairymen and the feed man said he needed higher protien. He was showing me how he was losing money by buying to much supplement. My guy said that when HE grew the hay it was always better He wanted to see it more in the 24 or higher. So I ve done a lot off home worl since and realized how good of hay he has been getting from me and it's gona bite . What I read here is that over 200 RFV is like putting airplane in a two cyclinder put put.. The Cargil feed man is only a year old ,I had a talk with the other feed man that was there for 6 yrs said that he thought we had some of the best feed to work with. WhaT I think the major problem is that my guy wants big milk with out using BST so he wants to push the feed qualit to the max by trying to foiliar feed the hay, All that he gained was giving the salesman a nice fat wallet.
