I think generally one could say there is about 100,000 kernels of corn in a bushel. Now, if you had a bu of corn on the ground, it would be a solid green carpet. 15 bus would be like walking on an entire layer of kernels. What I've noticed is that as this vol corn gets bigger, it looks thicker. Ours is now @ V4 stage. I'd say most is from head shelling. Corn is very dry in NE IL. I suppose natural gas suppliers will have to conjure up some other excuse for super-hi NH3 prices next spring. We sure aren't burning much gas here. |
