Subject: Re: Leica mojoRTK - Reality Check...

Australia
The mojoRTK can currently outputs serial NMEA raw position or NMEA terrain compensated position because it has an 8 axis interial measurement unit inside. We have customers using NMEA now with other guidance systems but not with the EZ family. They generally bypass the EZ-guide unit and connect straight to the EZ-steer controller.

If the 500 can accept a standard NMEA position in (this is pretty standard for Ag electronics) then the mojoRTK can send it a RS232 NMEA position either raw or compensated depending if you don't already have the terrain compensation on the 500.

If the 500 supports a NMEA position in from a third party GPS receiver then yes, you can continue to use the mapping features. This is really a Trimble 'openess' issue. It may be that they block this to protect their own GPS receiver business... not sure. I think they block it on the AutoPilot?

Others in the forum can answer this better than me.

Keep checking the mojoRTK website for new product releases anyway and you may be surprised by what's coming.

John
