Subject: Coolant Flush

Near-north Ontario, French River
Have a 98 Chevy 5.0L that was recently in the shop for an oil change. As they always to they check a number of things when servicing the vehicle. The report they gave dad when he picked up the trucked say that a coolant flush is recommended. Coolant tested good for -34 C.. and a PH of 3.0. Motor has 285,000km on it, seems to run within the normal operating temperature ranges. They want $370 to do the flush, including disposal of old coolant. What's everyones opinion... are they fishing for business or it it time to flush things? To the best of my knowledge this is the original coolant , but if may have been changed once ( not sure)
