Trick is to get over the thought of using EMT for the brackets. Factory brackets on the MT are rubber mounted and not a lot of overhang from the outer mounting point so the tubing may well be lighter. I've never checked to see how thick the tube is, but it doesn't vibrate. Home built mounts on the 75. 2"x2"x.25" square tubing keeps all the shake out of that one
