91 IH 9 spd spicer (I think)  Lost 9th on the interstate. Had a "growl" for a min. in 8th, went to 9th & had it for a min, then had to go back to 8th. Growl went away, but I don't have 9th now.  Tranny is warm, 140-160*, no puddles. Grossing about 50,000#.

 Can I make it home (500 mi) in 8th? Or should I find someone to bring the other tractor?  Gotta be home for a funeral tuesday as I'm  a pall bearer.  Figguring on putting a 12513 in when I get home.

 Anyone know of a good reasonable shop in Jamestown?
