Aberdeen MS
When my 9 went down (years and years back), it was making a growling noise and shifted a bit "off" in the top end. That was in PA. Noise was "kind of there" after and temps stayed down and thought it was just my imagination. Went to CA unloaded, loaded and made it back as far as WY on the return trip.

After pulling Sherman I couldn't hold 9th anymore and the noise got worse.

Counter balance shaft bearing was gone. Gone to the point the counter shaft went thru the race and started chewing on the tranny casing.

Only reason that it went as far as it did IMO, I was running Primrose 80-135 in the tranny. That particular grease will "climb" the gears and not sling off like conventional. Just a case of a "better product" doing it's job and making a repair job more expensive. But that is just a thought of mine.

With you lighter weight and temps where they are, there should be some life left. How much is a million dollar question. At least try for Bismark. Only another 100 miles still have shops if it gets worse.
