When I changed mine I purchased the Ford gasket in a tube that fits in a caulking gun, boy is that stuff good. Ford had some problems with their differential covers rusting out,I put a new one on mine and my sons F150. Make sure yours is all right and not ready to start leaking. Take a wire brush to the outside of it, clean it good and check.
