Have a CIH 8575 baler, same as a Hesston 4755 I think. It has about 40,000 bales through it. We've got it in the shop for a going-over, cleaned the hay out and slithered up inside the bale chamber and see some cracks. New piece would be about $3000, plus what looks like a week of work to change. Steel doesn't seem too thin, just cracked around hinge points. What do you guys do with this? I am just going to weld up the cracks unless I hear different. Bought a used baler to just do our own 1-2K bales/yr, no plans to get into major hay production or custom baling. |
