central - east central Minnesota - | Depends on your use, they make light-shade lenses for tig, mig, arc, grinding and torch work. There are battery and solar/light powered ones. Less expesive ones could only cover one or two of the tasks. That may not be a big deal if you only do one or two types of welding. But remember the future, the helmet may last 20 or 30 yrs. Newer ones are tying to become lighter in weight, cost more. I wanted one with the larger lense area, more money. Good ones are expensive - Go to a welding supplier, a couple of them and let them give you their sales speal. Then go on the internet and price them out http://store.cyberweld.com/vieq.html http://www.weldingmart.com/helmets.htm https://weldingsupply.securesites.com/cgi-bin/einstein.pl?Next::1:UNDEF:OR:terms::PR Good luck and have fun . . .
